Archipelago Network’s digital journal

We are delighted to announce the launch of our digital journal, a space within our website where original research related to our ongoing documentation projects in the Cyclades is presented in multimedia form.

“Female Hands at Work,” our inaugural entry by curator and writer Lydia Matthews, is an interactive exploration of three women artists and their impact on contemporary Sifnian potteries. Through wide ranging interviews, photographic essays, videos and previously unpublished archives, Matthews explores how Kateh Lembesis, Zoe Keramea and Diane Katsiaficas—both family members and outsiders who arrive to collaborate with local ceramicists—have played central roles in evolving the craft tradition of Sifnian pottery, ensuring it remains vital.
