“Anthemis” at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin

In the context of the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW)’s “The Whole Life. Archives & Imaginaries” in Berlin, Jacob Moe, founder of the Archipelago Network and Hypercomf (Paola Palavidi and Ioannis Koliopoulous) present Anthemis.

“How do archives influence social realities? Which strategies can be used to decolonize archives in the digital space? Can archives enable alternative ideas of the future? “The Whole Life. Archives & Imaginaries” reflects on archives as places for counter-narratives and illuminates the profound links between archives and society. During the three-day congress, artists and scholars develop alternative narrative forms and research strategies in experimental formats.”

Archipelago Network’s participation in the event includes a public talk with Jacob Moe, Geli Mademli and Hypercomf on March 26 2022 at 12.30pm and an exhibit of selected materials related to the project, presenting the Anthemis toolkit, a soundscape of field recordings made on Syros, and a zine. The zine, commissioned by HKW and produced in March 2022, is designed by Paola Palavidi and will be distributed at HKW and various locations across the Cyclades.
