“Mirrors: Trans-Mediterranean Archive Dialogue” at the 18th EUTIC International Conference

We are happy to announce Archipelago Network’s participation in the 18th EUTIC International Conference, where we will be presenting selected case studies derived from workshops conducted in the context of the “Mirrors: Trans-Mediterranean Archive Dialogue” collaborative project.

On October 13, 2023, our research associates, Mando Rachovitsa (University of Nottingham) and Marina Markellou (University of Groningen) share their research findings on access and re-use policies for archival materials within the legal and cultural contexts of Greece, Lebanon, and Egypt.

“Mirrors” is a collaboration between Archipelago Network, Cimatheque – Alternative Film Center, and UMAM Documentation and Research (Beirut, Lebanon), aiming to exchange expertise on archival practices and share content in order to create a jointly published handbook on archival best practices for copyright and audiovisual preservation relevant to the diverse social and political contexts of the Southern Mediterranean and MENA region. This collaboration is implemented by Culture Resource & MitOst and co-funded by the European Union.

The 18th EUTIC International Conference focuses on Digital Humanism and Social Sustainability and takes place at the Université Bordeaux Montaigne in France from October 11-13, 2023.
